Metal Maniacs Magazine returns to a new online format after closing the doors to its print operation in February 2009.

Resurrected by the owner of Metalhit.com, with a site developed by Reh3 Design (www.reh3.com / www.mouthforwar.net), the new Metal Maniacs features regularly updated content and features from the latest in underground metal.

The site boasts an exhaustive Mp3 store featuring more than 13,000 songs available for preview and purchase as well as a new forum, monthly contests, a weekly “deadly discovery” showcasing up and coming bands and a monthly free digital music compilation.

The debut launch features a 24 song compilation with free downloads from bands like: Asphyx, Augury, Black Anvil, Daath, Hands, Impending Doom, Leaves’ Eyes, Merauder, Séance, Skeletonwitch, Suicide Silence, Vader and more!!!

Unrestrained Magazine, extreme metal magazine which recently closed doors due to sad passing away of Adrian Bromley, the publisher, coordinator, and co-editor of the magazine. Tate Bengtson has offered the last issue, #39, as free download. Unrestrained! #39 has been released by Adrian’s friends and family as a tribute to him in PDF format. Metallica New Track Available For Streaming

Metallica’s new track ‘The Day That Never Comes’ is available for streaming on the band’s Myspace page. The epic track is the first single to be released from their forthcoming release ‘Death Magnetic’ and is available for purchase through iTunes. The band has filmed a video for the track with Danish film director Thomas Vinterberg.

German Tribute To Metallica

Five German bands have recorded cover versions of classic METALLICA songs for the first-ever “German Tribute to Metallica”. Between now and August 18, a new track from the tribute will be made available for free download each Tuesday and Friday via www.tribute-to-metallica.de.

Heavy Metal Monk

Brother Cesare, a 62 year old monk from Milan hinterland, has a heart of metal and is the lead singer in a heavy metal band. The monk fell in love with metal some 15 years ago when he attended a Metallica concert. Brother Cesare, also known as Brother Metal, started playing and recording cassettes, firstly with “lighter” metal
music, but gradually he realised that what really moved him was the
hard core.

“Five minutes after meeting Brother Cesare I decided to go ahead,
because he manages to convey so much energy, that other musicians and
youngsters often don’t manage to express,” lead guitarist, Cesare
Zanotti, told Reuters.

Brother Metal recently appeared in the Gods of Metal festival in Italy,
along with giants such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Slayer, playing
to a crowd of leather-clad hard-core metal fans.
Brother Metal always wears his tradition brown robe and sandals.

Recently, Brother Metal has released his second album called ‘Misteri’ (Mysteries). The songs lyrics deal with real world issues like alcohol, drugs and about religion.
